The 21st Annual Clallam County Student Arts Show sponsored by Sequim Arts will be showing from March 4-29 at The Landing Mall, 115 E. Railroad Ave. in Port Angeles.

The show will be open daily during regular Landing Mall hours. The show coincides with National Youth Art Month, a program begun in 1961 to emphasize the value of art education for all children and the value of art to society.

Students may enter up to two pieces and there is an entry fee of $1 per piece. All two-dimensional work, including posters, must be matted or framed. Framed art must have wire attached for hanging. Matted art does not need a hanger.

The 2014 Student Art Show featured 114 interesting and beautiful pieces of art by middle school and high school students from across the county. The 2015 show promises to be even better, with paintings, drawings, glass work and sculpture. Multiple prizes will be awarded.

Two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces are accepted with the three-dimensional pieces limited to 50 pounds in weight.

Sunday, March 1, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. is the day students will turn in their pieces approved for the show. The “intake” will be at The Landing.

Also, applications are online at sequimarts.com.

An artists’ reception and awards ceremony will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, March 7. The awards will be presented at 5 p.m.

All artwork must be picked up from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, March 29. Questions should be directed to Steve Edison at swedison@gmail.com.
