Sequim Education Foundation announces 2019 scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors

Sequim Education Foundation is offering a number of scholarship opportunities to 2019 Sequim High School graduating seniors.

Each scholarship is listed on www.WashBoard.org, with a complete description of eligibility and application requirements.

Application deadline for all scholarships is March 8.

Applications are evaluated by the SEF Scholarship Committee, which consists of foundation board members and community members. Awards will be presented at the annual Sequim High School scholarship awards ceremony on May 29.

Scholarship opportunities include:

• James J. Halloran Memorial Scholarship Fund — Two $2,000 scholarships

• Jane Q. Miller and Gertrude Greenside Scholarship — Two $2,000 scholarships with possible renewal up to three years

• June Robinson Scholarship in Journalism or History — One $2,500.00 scholarship with possible renewal up to three years

• Ray and June Robinson STEM Scholarship — One $2,500.00 scholarship with possible renewal up to three years

• Woodward P. Ward Fund — Two $2,000.00 scholarships

The Sequim Education Foundation (SEF) is “committed to providing the youth of our community with opportunities and experiences that will stimulate their imaginations and inspire them to reach for their dreams,” foundation representatives say. To fulfill the mission, SEF awards teacher grants and academic scholarships, and sponsor programs and events to create opportunities for students

The nonprofit foundation also accepts charitable gifts from community members.
