Sequim Soroptimist group hosts event to address ’Concerns With Living Alone’

Members of Soroptimist International of Sequim look to pass along information to local residents — particularly seniors — about “Concerns with Living Alone: Security, Safety, and Scams” at the group’s upcoming semi-annual Tea with S.H.E. seminar.

The free event is set for noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.; reservations are not required.

Representatives from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department and the Sequim Police Department discuss these issues and suggest precautionary actions, as well as what to do if a problem occurs.

Light refreshments will be served.

Tea with S.H.E (Soroptimists Helping and Empowering) is a series of free seminars/presentations aimed primarily at issues facing mature and older women in Sequim and the surrounding areas.

Seminars are open to women and men of all ages.

A short question-and-answer sessions follow presentations, and informational handouts and brochures are provided.
