The next school board meeting is 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in the district boardroom, 503 N. Sequim Ave. The public is invited to attend, and time is set aside for public comment. The Sequim School District’s teacher-librarians invite all students and their families to attend the Annual Family Reading Night on Jan. 23 at Sequim Middle School. The event hosts an array of fun activities focused on literacy, and all students — pre-K through 12th graders — will leave with a free book at the end of the evening.

GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Enjoy dinner, make a kit race car and learn more about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects at Greywolf this month. For students and families in kindergarten through second grade, visit the school from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9. For students in grades 3-5, visit the school from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10.

HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY

Helen Haller Elementary’s Parent-Teacher Organization McTakeover is set for 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Sequim McDonald’s, 107 S. Seventh Ave. The PTO’s next meeting is 6-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at the school’s library.

SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL

SHS Operetta organizers this year will host a preliminary audition on Wednesday, Jan. 9, and Thursday, Jan. 10 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Sign up in the main office to reserve a spot and get an audition packet. Monologues and songs must be from the audition packet and memorized.

PSAT tests results are available to pick up in the Counseling Center. Tests results are available to pick up before school, during lunchtime and after school. Questions? Contact counselor Steve Erickson.

Winter Ball Dance guest request forms are available this week. Forms can be picked up in the main office and are due by 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17. Winter Ball is at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the school cafeteria. Tickets are on sale as week and are $10 the first week (Jan. 7-11), $15 the second week (Jan. 14-18) and $20 at the door.

Seniors: Scholarship notebooks have arrived and are now available for purchase from Erin Ulm in the main office. Cost is $4 (you must use a notebook purchased from Sequim High School). See Mitzi Sanders in the career office for more information.
