Port Townsend hosts a variety show like nothing to be seen on the peninsula this weekend.

Jugglers, musicians, world record holders and more make up the New Old Time Chautauqua, an educational vaudeville circus at The American Legion Hall, 209 Monroe St., in downtown Port Townsend for one night at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11.

This special performance benefits summer tours to underserved communities throughout the U.S.

The vaudeville show features The Flying Karamazov Brothers, who recently finished performing in London’s West End.

They’ve performed on television and with several singers and performers from Frank Sinatra to The Who to Robin Williams.

Local performers fill up the bill, with performances by Port Townsend’s magician extraordinaire Joey Pipia; sword swallower and object manipulator Justin Credible who holds the world record for “longest string passed through nose and mouth in one minute”; Seattle puppeteer Godfrey Daniels; the Pipia Sisters on accordion and guitar; The Juggling Jollies; the fighting instruments of Karma Marching Chamber Band/Orchestra; and more.

The New Old Time Chautauqua, founded in 1981 by The Flying Karamazov Brothers and Patch Adams, is a nonprofit organization that brings world-class live entertainment and free circus workshops to schools, prisons and retirement homes in several states and into Canada. The group remains one of the only touring chautauquas in the U.S. today.
