Within the limits of available resources, Serenity House offers the Serenity House Single Adult Shelter, at 2321 W. 18th St., Port Angeles, from 10 p.m.-7 a.m. for people ages 18 and older who are ready to go to sleep, but do not have a safe place to sleep.

The overnight population is not required to be clean and sober, therefore, they will be physically separated from the SAS residential shelter and room-and-board populations, which are clean and sober.

Registered sex offenders cannot be accommodated.

Initially, 14 overflow cots will be available. The number is limited to the agency’s capacity to provide necessary services and oversight.

There is no Clallam Transit bus service to the shelter at night.

Serenity House anticipates hiring two staff people to supervise overnight. The positions are listed on WorkSource, with a preference for veterans. Volunteers are needed to assist staff and help man the desk while overnight clients sleep.

Clallam County is redirecting its contract for providing overnight emergency shelter through April 2016, to Serenity House.

Operation beyond that date will require continued funding from the county and/or other sources.
