Homeward Bound, the community land trust providing permanently affordable housing in Jefferson and Clallam counties, has opened its first office at the Incubator@Lincoln Center. An open house is planned from 3-5 p.m. Dec. 18. The public is invited to visit the new office and hear more about how to become involved in the community land trust movement.

Clallam County Family YMCA fitness coordinator Mikki Reidel recently completed and received certification for YogaFit Level 1 and is teaching "Strengthen & Stretch" at 10:30 am on Fridays. Reidel has instructed for 15 years at the YMCA and also teaches indoor cycling, power 1/2 hour and yoga.

Getta Rogers, formerly Y-ARTS and events director, has been promoted to director of development and communications for the Clallam County Family YMCA. Key accomplishments include oversight of the YMCA’s fledgling art program, securing several grants and initiating a comprehensive marketing plan. She is also the founder and organizer of "A Taste of the Peninsula," a community event benefiting the YMCA’s art program. Her new position supports the YMCA’s increased focus on a comprehensive communication and financial development strategy.

Pianist Kathie Sharp has joined the faculty of Olympic Music School. Applications for January enrollments are being accepted for private instruction and adult classes in piano. Sharp holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from University of Washington and believes that every person can learn to play music regardless of age. She has an extensive teaching and performing background.

Sequim Starbucks, 1095 W. Washington St., holds its annual "Cheer Party" from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19. Santa Claus will be available and people can sit, share their wish list, take pictures or just visit. A group of carolers will have sing-along books so all can join. Inside the lobby will be a Starbucks ornament decorating station as well as an opportunity to share in a partnership Starbucks has to fight AIDS in Africa. Visitors are invited to bring toys to stuff a fire truck and/or a police car. The toys will be distributed to children in need.

Peninsula Awards & Trophies, 241 E. Washington St., will be closed for machine maintenance and inventory Dec. 25-Jan. 4.

Sequim Pre-Three meets 9:30-11:30 a.m. Fridays at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave. Winter sign-up is starting for parents/guardians of toddlers. Winter class starts Jan. 9.

Sequim Pre-Three is a non-profit organization for ages 10 months to 3 1/2 years in age. Parents/guardians participate in discussion groups led by Peninsula College. The children participate in activities led by an experienced early childhood educator. Parents can earn a Family Life Education Certificate through Peninsula Community College.

The fee for the quarter is $75 for 11 weeks with a one-time $25 registration fee.
