The Sequim High School Flag Team will hold auditions for the 2011-2012 school year on Sept. 1-2.
Skills clinics to prepare for auditions will be offered during the summer. The first skills clinic is from noon-2 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, in the Sequim Community School gym, 220 W. Alder St.
Other clinics will be held July 20, Aug. 10 and Aug. 17. Each clinic focuses on a different aspect of flag skills and dance movement.
During the 2011-2012 season, the flag team will travel with the Sequim High band to Victoria, British Columbia, for the Victoria Days celebration, including a performance at the Government Building and a parade through downtown Victoria.
Other performances will include Homecoming, a Sequim High School basketball halftime show, and parades in Bremerton, Port Townsend and Wenatchee.
The first performance of the year is at Husky Band Day at a University of Washington football game on Sept. 10.
Students who would like to attend Husky Band Day must try out on Sept. 1-2 and are encouraged to attend skills clinics over the summer.
