City of Sequim adds new tech for documents, public records requests

Meetings now posted on YouTube

The City of Sequim has added three new technology portals through its website sequimwa.gov that staff say are meant to increase transparency and accessibility to City documents and records for meetings and public records requests.

The new “Agendas and Minutes Portal” allows the public to access current meeting agendas, minutes, videos, and up-to-date information about the City Council, and different boards, committees, and commissions.

The City is now hosting meeting videos on both the Agendas & Minutes Portal and on the City’s YouTube channel (youtube.com/@sequimgovernment3327).

On the portal, meeting agendas and materials can be viewed side-by-side with the timestamped meeting video.

It also features more information about Sequim’s boards, commissions, and committees, and apply for vacant positions.

In the “Electronic Records Center,” the public can freely search official city records, such as agendas and minutes, ordinances, resolutions, proclamations, and other documents dating back to 1913, with records continually being added.

For the “Public Records Request Portal,” the public can submit public records requests for city documents, and it allows city staff to upload records, review them for exemptions, and produce them electronically for requestors in the quickest and most cost-effective manner.

Requesters are also free to submit written or verbal requests by contacting the City Clerk’s office at clerk@sequimwa.gov or by calling 360-681-3428.

With any questions about the portals, contact the City Clerk’s office at clerks@sequimwa.gov.
