City of Sequim launches redesigned websites

The City of Sequim last week launched updated versions of its two websites — the official City of Sequim website at sequimwa.gov, and the Sequim tourism website at visitsunnysequim.com.

“The websites have updated technology that makes them fully responsive, meaning they will adapt to whatever device the visitor is using including desktop, tablet and phone,” city officials said in a press release.

In 2018, about 38 percent of visitors to the City of Sequim website and 54 percent of visitors to the tourism website are on mobile devices, city officials said.

“The new technology assures that visitors to our websites will be able to easily find the information they are looking for on any device,” Barbara Hanna, City of Sequim Communications and Marketing Director, said

The City of Sequim website allows users to sign up for news and information updates in several categories through a “Notify Me” module. Those that sign up can decide what information they want to receive and whether they want to receive it through email or text.

The upgrade to the websites was done by CivicPlus, who originally developed the websites and has hosted the City of Sequim’s two websites since 2011.

Website upgrades cost $16,700, city officials said.
