A new report released by the Washington State Auditor’s Office says Clallam County Public Utility District No. 1 is properly dotting its i’s and crossing its t’s.

In a new report, the auditor’s office said its independent accountability audit of the books for 2012 show the PUD “complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies and procedures.”

The auditors don’t look at every transaction; rather they look into those areas where there is the highest risk of noncompliance, misappropriation or misuse.

For this audit that included accounts receivable write-offs, controls over credit cards and accounts payable information system risk.

The final report declares PUD’s “internal controls were adequate to safeguard public assets.”

The auditors also found PUD complied with the appropriate state laws and its own rules and regulations in all of the areas they examined.
