To the day of his national observance, members of the Sequim Boys & Girls Club’s Keystone Club put the final touches on their mural of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Luke Kisena, teen room coordinator, said members of the Keystone Club, a national program dedicated to academic success and college readiness painted the “Tween Room” two weekends ago before finishing the project on Jan. 20.

Of all the project possibilities, Kisena said this was the one they were most excited about doing.

The mural ran in conjunction with the club’s Paint the Town program that paints murals for local groups.

Kisena said they plan to paint the rock wall in the club’s gym next and they are and in talks to do a mural at Peninsula College.
