Commission details results of DUI enforcement campaign

 

Results are in from the state’s recent Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over DUI enforcement campaign, conducted from Nov. 21, 2012, through Jan. 1.

In Clallam County, 24 motorists were stopped and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI), and statewide law enforcement officers arrested 3,446 drivers for DUI. 

Last year in Clallam County, during the same time period, officers on routine and extra patrols arrested 26 people for DUI.

The Port Angeles and Sequim Police Departments, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol participated in the extra DUI patrols in Clallam County, with the support of the Clallam County DUI Traffic Safety Task Force.
