Winterfest, the annual fundraiser to support winter sports at Hurricane Ridge, will be from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

The event features a prime rib dinner prepared by Next Door Gastropub, live and silent auctions, live music by Bill and Rudy, and a series of short films featuring local skiers and snowboarders ripping it up at Hurricane Ridge.

All contributions are tax deductible and proceeds go to snow school and ski team operations, as well as scholarships to underprivileged children in the community who would like to learn how to ski, snowboard or participate on ski team.

Following the auctions, attendees will see the top films from past VideOlympics, a local film festival/contest held in Port Angeles. This year’s films include 2011 Winner “Long Stories Short” by Ethan Strahan, 2012 Winner “Shred the Ridge by Evan Applegate, Ryan Tucker and Ted and Jack McColl, 2013 Winner “Olympic Decathalon” by Sean Halberg and the 2014 Winner Videolympics 2014 by the Z Boys plus their new film, “See It, Ride It, Live It.”

Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Children 12 and under are $25. Community tables are $320, a $5 per person savings. Community tables are reserved with your name prominently displayed.

Individual tickets can be purchased at Swain’s General Store, Necessities & Temptations, Brown’s Outdoor and Brian’s Sporting Goods in Sequim.
