Karen Polinsky’s book entitled “Dungeness” is a novel inspired by local historian Mary Ann Lambert. The newly released volume is a mix of history, tribal pictures, Lambert’s writing and storytelling.

Sequim Museum will host a reading by Polinsky at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, in the Exhibit Center at 175 W. Cedar St. in Sequim. The book also will be for sale and the author will stay to answer questions and sign copies.

The story centers around the “Dungeness Massacre” but also encompasses many aspects of tribal life from the West Coast and includes history in the Port Townsend area.

The Sequim Museum and Arts recently loaned the famous replica silver earrings from the massacre for an art exhibit celebrating the release of the book in Port Townsend.
