Fire District controls Woodcock Road barn fire

Clallam County Fire District 3 firefighters responded to a barn fire early Tuesday morning on the 5000 block of Woodcock Road.

Battalion Chief Elliott Jones said they were dispatched just before 1 a.m. to a fully involved single-story barn fire just east of the Sequim-Dungeness Way roundabout.

After confirming with the owner that no one was in the barn, fire crews placed two water lines for fire control and structure protection of the neighboring residence, he said.

Fire officials report there were no injuries and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The barn is considered a loss, and there was some damage to the side of the home, officials report.

There was a total of 18 firefighters and two EMS personnel on scene from the fire district and Olympic Ambulance.

Clallam PUD controlled power to the home after a wire from the home to the barn fell to the ground, Jones said.
