As part of its Opening Day Events, the Sequim Bay Yacht Club hosts an open house from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at the courtesy docks next to the launching ramps at John Wayne Marina, 2577 West Sequim Bay Road.

Several members’ sail and power boats will be available to view and the club will provide individuals and families the opportunity to experience what it’s like to sail a 19-foot Flying Scot sailboat on

Sequim Bay. Also, learn about membership opportunities and the club’s “Family Learn to Sail” program.

Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable, warm, layered clothing — it can be windy and chilly on the bay this time of year — and to bring a lifejacket if you have one; lifejackets will be provided for those who do not.

Safety first: If you have a lifejacket, please bring it – if you don’t, a courtesy one will be provided.
