Greywolf Elementary School is a recipient of the 2013 Washington State School of Distinction award.

The award is given in recognition for reading and math improvement over the past five years.

Greywolf Elementary is one of 55 schools from among Washington state’s 1,023 elementary schools to receive the distinction.  

“Our kids work hard every day in school and at home with their parents as well,” said Donna Hudson, Greywolf’s principal for the past four years.

“Our staff has worked very hard. We receive a lot of encouragement and support from the district’s Teaching & Learning and Student Support Services departments.

“An award like this is really a team effort and at Greywolf Elementary we have developed a great team.”

Vince Riccobene, Sequim School District’s Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, said, “This award is a testament to Greywolf Elementary School’s staff, students, leaders and the community serving our children.”  

This is the seventh annual School of Distinction award recognition in Washington.

Awards were given to schools with the top 5 percent in improvement to test scores in the past half-decade.

Greywolf Elementary has about 500 students.
