During her 30 years with the 3M Company, Suzanne James-King has worked in account management, sales management and sales in divisions as diverse as Pharmaceuticals and Electrical Markets.

On March 10, she brings that expertise to the next Science Café as a community service of the Sequim Education Foundation.

For the past eight years James-King has worked with utilities, transmission owners, power developers, public utility commissions and various stakeholders across the western USA promoting 3M’s High Capacity Transmission Conductor, 3M ACCR (Aluminum Conductor Composite Reinforced).

The discussion on March 10 focuses on “What happens when you turn on your light switch” — from power generation to transmission to delivery and the changing landscape of power generation and transmission.

Science Café programs present expert speakers for adult and young adult audiences interested in current developments in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Science Café events are held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Paradise Restaurant.

Admission is free and food and beverages are available for purchase.
