Keep fireworks legal, safe

Sheriff Bill Benedict reminds Clallam County citizens to be cautious in their use of fireworks over the holiday. Use only legal fireworks, called “consumer fireworks.” Firecrackers, bottle rockets, missiles, M-80’s, cherry bombs and tennis ball bombs are illegal.

Keep fireworks use to allowed times: June 28, noon-11 p.m.; June 29-July 4, 9 a.m.-11 p.m.; July 5, noon-11 p.m. For detailed safety information on legal fireworks, visit the Washington State Patrol web page, www.wsp.wa.gov and search “fireworks.”
