Kilmer invites Vietnam vets, community to pinning ceremony

As part of the 50th anniversary commemoration of the Vietnam War, U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer invited veterans of the Vietnam War to participate in a pinning ceremony set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the NW Veteran Resource Center, 216 S. Francis St., Port Angeles.

At the ceremony, Kilmer will present a commemorative pin created by the Department of Defense to attending United States veterans who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces between Nov. 1, 1955-May 15, 1975.

Port Angeles Mayor Sissi Bruch will join Kilmer.

Community members are welcome and encouraged to attend and show their support for their friends and neighbors who served in Vietnam. There is no need to RSVP.
