The League of Women Voters of Clallam County is sponsoring free public candidate forums to help voters consider candidates and issues on the Nov. 6 general election ballots.
The first forum is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Port Angeles City Hall-City Council Chambers, 321 E. Fifth St., Port Angeles, and consists of three panels. The first features candidates for Clallam County Director of Community Development (Mary Ellen Winborn and Julie Gardiner), the second includes candidates for Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney (Mark Nichols and Selinda Barkhuis) and the third features candidates for Clallam County Sheriff (Bill Benedict and Jim McLaughlin).
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and bring their questions for the candidates.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization whose purpose is “to encourage local citizens to register to vote, become well-informed voters and participate in all levels of government.”
