The North Olympic Peninsula showed its Seahawks’ pride with two Sea Gals cheerleaders.

Gretchen, a new cheerleader for the team, and Kelsey, a team cheerleader for four years, signed autographs and took photos with fans in the Sequim and Port Angeles Walmart stores on Friday, Sept. 12.

More than 100 fans attended in Sequim dressed in jerseys and team apparel including one dog decked out in all-Seahawks clothes.

Five-year-old kindergartener Glenna Krieger shared a cheer she learned in Sequim Wolf Pack and the cheerleaders shared one with her. Friends Riley Hazard and Jacob Major of Sequim said they’d known about the appearance for a while, found it really cool and took each other’s pictures with the cheerleaders. Don Kirst of Sequim said he showed the cheerleaders his Seahawks shirt that he was pretty sure was older than them.

This was the fifth year in a row the Sea Gals have come to Sequim.

“The turnout is always great here,” said Jim Webster, district manager for Clallam-Jefferson Counties of Crown Distributing, which co-sponsored the event.
