Many opportunities remain to enjoy live music and lunch at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Avenue, Sequim.
The Music Live with Lunch concert series started Sept. 15 with the Port Angeles String Quartet and continues until May.
The Tuesday, Oct. 20, concert features a quartet of Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers members: director Michael Rivers, Greg Bondy, Shawn Dawson and Dan Cobb.
Rivers studied at Valparaiso University and Berklee College of Music, worked on album recordings and performed across the U.S.
Bondy is a self-employed general contractor and has sung bass with PMGS since the group formed in 2001.
Dawson has been active in community theater musicals as a singer/actor.
Cobb and his wife moved to Port Angeles in 2000 to teach general music in Port Angeles elementary schools.
The full chorus is comprised of 16 members from Joyce, Port Angeles and Sequim.
Instrumental, vocal
Other performers in the Music Live with Lunch series this year are Pat Marcy and Rosemary Brauninger, piano for four hands; the Port Angeles Chamber Orchestra; members of the Sequim High School wind ensemble; Gene Hersrud, organist; and Marilyn Carlson and Brian Doig performing Broadway show tunes.
All performers donate their time with funds raised going to food expenses and local charities.
Concerts begin at noon in the church’s sanctuary with lunch served at 12:30 p.m. in the parish hall.
"It has become one of the most popular lunchtime ‘treats’ in the area," said Carolyn Braun, co-organizer.
"The food, one of the main attractions, has consistently been praised by all who attend the series and this year is under the supervision of Armand Emond."
In 16th season
Lou and Bill Yandell started Music Live with Lunch in 1994.
"(They) realized there were many excellent musicians in the Sequim area and many people who wanted to hear good music, eat a delicious lunch and have a chance to get together with friends," Braun said.
Since taking over, Braun and her husband, Ray, see attendance average 130 people per event.
Music Live with Lunch is on third Tuesdays, excluding December, on Nov. 17, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 16, April 20 and May 18.
Individual tickets, including lunch and music, cost $10, or season passes are available at a discount.
Tickets can be bought at the St. Luke’s office from
