Adare McMinn, a freshman at Sequim High School, was recognized as the Sequim Sunrise Rotary’s December Vocational student of the month.

She was born in Colorado Springs, Colo., and moved to Sequim 12 years ago. Her mother is Tamara Senz and her father is Keith McMinn.

Her mother and grandmother were present for the award presentation.

She was nominated by her high school health teacher Justine Wagner.

Wagner told the Rotarians that she nominated McKinn because she is always on time for class, is prepared and is kind to her fellow students.

McMinn’s favorite class is geometry and she loves playing soccer and spending time at Lake Crescent with friends. Her future plans include studying to be an architect.
