KSQM’s 6th annual Pet Lovers Week Aug. 4-10 was a win/win for the radio station as well as local pet fanciers.

This year contributions to KSQM made during Pet Lovers Week resulted in a gift of over 650 pounds of supplies given to local animal adoption agencies.

This year’s recipients included the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society, Center Valley Animal Rescue, the Welfare for Animals Guild and Peninsula Friends of Animals. KSQM Pet Day was on Aug. 9 at Carrie Blake Park in a joint celebration with the Sequim Dog Park’s seventh anniversary.

Dozens of dogs and their humans turned out for the fun. Twenty-five pet friendly booths were on hand to greet them and the Emerald City K-9 Freestyle Dancers, Cassie’s Disc Dogs and even Officer Mike Hill with K-9 Chase were there to entertain. The llamas are with their owner, Mikie Morris of Bay Llamas.
