New hours, events at research center

The Clallam County Genealogical Society has changed the hours for the organization’s research center at 402 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. It will be open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, and noon-4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Anyone can come in and use the facility that includes books magazines, computers and paid genealogical data bases at no cost.

Volunteers are present to assist center users.

The center hosts a Brick Wall session led by professional genealogist Virginia Majewski at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8.

On Wednesday, Feb. 12, the genealogical society will host a Webinar Wednesday with Pizza, “New tools and Ideas in Research” by Joshua Taylor. A $5 donation is requested to cover the cost of the pizza by those who wish to participate. Taylor is known as the host of the TV show “Genealogical Road Show” and is a speaker, researcher and educator.
