Sword fighting, physical comedy, quick banter and mistaken identity come together in Ken Ludwig’s farcical “Moon Over Buffalo” starting this weekend with the Port Angeles Community Players.
Richard Stephens and Lynne Murphy take the leads as George and Charlotte Hay who are conflicted between Charlotte looking to shine on the silver screen and George committed to theater. They are performing in rep in “Cyrano de Begerac” and “Private Lives,” when George receives a call from director Frank Capra, who needs replacements for Ronald Colman and Greer Garson, the stars of his current film “The Twilight of the Scarlet Pimpernel.” But, the stars are on the verge of breaking up, as their daughter returns with her weatherman fiancé, the company is going broke, actors are quitting, and there is a young ingénue who carries a secret that could derail everything.
Barbara Frederick directs the cast which includes Sharon DelaBarre, Danielle Lorentzen, Steve Berry, Ben Catterson, Maddie Stearns and Rich Hendricksen.
