Pace picks up Rotary award

Alex Pace, a senior at

Sequim High School, was honored March 26 as Sequim High School Student of the Month by Sequim Rotary Club members.

He was selected for his many academic activities.

Pace, who is taking several honors classes, has a grade-point-average of 3.70 and is in the top 10 percent of his class. He has received three other Student of the Month awards at SHS — for career and technical classes, math classes and social studies classes.

In addition, he is in Honor Society, International Club and has been a Link Crew leader, a group that mentors younger high school students.

Pace is a fourth-year Spanish language student and spent a month last summer in Mexico with the YMCA helping in a small community. He has worked for Tarcisco’s restaurant for a year.

His hobbies are making movies, acting, traveling, backpacking and fishing. He plans on being in the high school operetta this May.

Pace has applied to Washington State University, Pacific Lutheran University and Western Washington University. His hope is to attend Western and pursue a career in engineering.
