Superior Court

Kevin Thomas White – White, 31, Sequim, was charged March 10 with one count each of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of less than 40 grams of marijuana. According to court records, White and Christopher Paul Pruden allegedly were found in possession of Tylenol 3 pills, marijuana, baggies and a scale during a Feb. 18 search at Railroad Bridge Park. A criminal summons was issued for White to appear at an April 2 court hearing.

Shelly Cairns-Berkseth – Cairns-Berkseth, 34, Sequim, entered into a drug court contract on March 18. According to court records, Cairns-Berkseth was found in possession of methamphetamine following a traffic stop in Sequim on July 20, 2009.

Loretta Edberg – Edberg, 37, Upland, Calif., is scheduled to plead guilty April 1 to two counts of custodial interference and one count of bail jumping. Edberg was arrested May 1, 2009, in Montclair, Calif., on investigation of custodial interference. Christopher D. Hanning, 10, and Joshua N. Hanning, 13, were found with their mother in Montclair, Calif., and reunited with their father, Brian Hanning, on May 2.

Edberg’s accomplice, Anthony Charles Buchanan, 34, of Montclair, Calif., was sentenced Nov. 24, 2009, on one count of first-degree custodial interference. He will serve 15 days in jail converted to 120 hours community service and pay $1,350 in fines and court costs plus restitution to be determined. He is prohibited from having contact with Brian Hanning or his two sons before Nov. 24, 2014. Three other counts were dismissed. Buchanan was arrested May 1 in Montclair after the boys were found with their mother who had taken them from their father.

Marc Ferrin – Ferrin, 44, Jefferson City, Mo., had his May 3 trial rescheduled to June 7. He was charged Nov. 20, 2009, with one count of first-degree theft and nine counts of "criminal liability of persons making false statements or concealing information." Ferrin allegedly doubled-billed the state Department of Labor and Industries for chiropractic services numerous times between July 2007 and April 2008.

Bruce Wayne Homan – Homan, 37,

Sequim, was charged March 12 with one count of possession of a controlled substance other than marijuana. According to court records, Homan allegedly was found with heroin and drug paraphernalia during a March 12 search.

Susan Elizabeth Thomas – Thomas, 29, Sequim, also known as Susan Elizabeth Johnson, was charged March 15 with one count each of attempted delivery of a controlled substance and sale, delivery or possession with intent to sell or deliver a legend drug. According to court documents, Thomas allegedly conspired to smuggle a controlled substance (cocaine) into the Clallam County Jail by way of postcards. Arraignment was set for April 2.

Steven Theodore Bright – Bright, 30, Sequim, was charged March 17 with 15 counts of third-degree child rape, 10 counts of distribution of a narcotic to a person under 18, 11 counts of distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18 and one count of unlawful possession of an incendiary device.

According to court records, Bright allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old girl numerous times between Feb. 4 and Feb. 21 and provided marijuana and Percocet to the girl numerous times in January and February 2010. Officers also found three types of ammunition during a search of Bright’s home. Bail was set at $50,000 pending his March 26 arraignment.

Jacob Donald Frederick – Frederick, 30, Sequim, was charged March 16 with one count of possessing depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. According to court records, Frederick allegedly was found in possession of numerous computer hard drives containing images of child pornography. Arraignment was set for April 9.
