Primary ballots mailed to voters; Election Day is Aug. 2

More than 57,000 ballots were in the process of being mailed to registered Clallam County voters on July 13 as voting got underway in the 2022 Primary Election, Clallam County Auditor Shoona Riggs noted last week.

Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 2. Those not registered to vote in Washington state have until July 25 to register online or by mail, or until 8 p.m. on Election Night to register in person at the Elections and Voter Registration Office at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Registered voters can access their registration details and other voter information online at votewa.gov.

Those needing a replacement ballot may print a ballot via the secure website, or obtain one by contacting Clallam County Elections and Voter Registration at 360-417-2221 or elections@clallamcountywa.gov.

Ballots must be postmarked or returned to a drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Ballot drop off options in Sequim include one at 651 W. Washington St. (parking lot) and at 261461 U.S. Highway 101, near Sunny Farms Country Store.

In Port Angeles, voters can drop ballots in one of three boxes at the county courthouse.

In Sekiu, the ballot box is at 15 Sekiu Airport Road (in the drive-up lane at the PUD), and in Neah Bay the box is at 1450 Bayview Ave. in front of Washburn’s General Store. In Clallam Bay, voters drop their ballots in a box at 16990 U.S. Highway 112 in front of the Clallam Bay Library, and in Forks the drop box is at 500 E. Division St. outside Forks City Hall.

An accessible voting unit is available in Room 042 at the Clallam County Courthouse, to assist voters with disabilities in voting independently. Regular business hours are 9:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with extended Election Day hours of 9:30 a.m.- 8 p.m.
