Sequim schools welcomes new staff for 2023-24

As students were busy preparing for the 2023-24 school year that kicks off today (Wednesday, Sept. 6), so too was the Sequim School District, who welcomed a number of new staffers to their buildings.

Kristen Lunt is the new principal at Sequim Middle School. She came to the school district “highly recommended” with several years of experience leading at the middle school level, district representatives said.

New Greywolf Elementary School assistant principal Tami Ota comes to the district with extensive experience; she has been a primary teacher, a reading interventionist, a literacy coach, a principal, a college instructor for teacher prep programs, and has worked as a consultant and trainer, going into schools to train teachers in early literacy.

Michael Santos is the new Director of Maintenance, Operations and Security. He has more than 25 years of experience in infrastructure improvement and asset management programs that varied from small plant environments, to vast manufacturing facilities to large complexes, district officials noted.

The new staff also includes the new Director of Transportation, Donald Hall, who most recently served as the Director of Transportation for Mason County School Transportation. He also served in this capacity with the Toledo School District.

Certified as a driver/trainer , Hall is the president for the Capital Chapter of the Washington Association of Pupil Transportation. He is a member of the National Association of Pupil Transportation and enrolled in their Director of Transportation certification program.
