On Tuesday May 6, from midnight to midnight, the Seattle Foundation will host the fourth annual GiveBig event.

This online giving event encourages new and returning individual donors to support nonprofit organizations who make communities a more vital place to live.

All donations will receive a percentage of a matching fund provided by sponsors such as Boeing, Microsoft and the Medina Foundation. To qualify for the match, donations must be made through the Seattle Foundation website on May 6: www.seattlefoundation.org/nonprofits/giveBig.

Donors may search for an agency and make a credit card donation of any amount. The chosen nonprofit will receive the contribution directly. There is no cost to participating agencies and The Seattle Foundation does not receive any portion of donations.

Throughout GiveBIG, donors will be chosen at random to win a golden ticket. The winners will have an additional $1,000 given in their name to the same nonprofit that received their donation.

The winners also will receive a $100 gift card, courtesy of Starbucks.

During the 2013 GiveBig event, 54,500 individuals gave a combined total of $11.1 million to more than 1,300 organizations, in addition to the $1 million matching fund.
