Suspects in Coastal store burglary seek plea deals

Plea deals are being sought for two men suspected of burglarizing Coastal Farm & Ranch in June and stealing shotguns and other merchandise.

Micah Aaron Parker, 33, and Christopher Paul Robbins, 53, pleaded not guilty in July to various counts related to allegedly breaking into the store’s front doors early on June 24, to steal 13 shotguns worth more than $9,000, and other items valued at more than $14,000.

A third man was seen on video surveillance, but Sequim Police report he remains at large.

On Aug. 5, judge Simon Barnhart agreed to move Parker’s Aug. 22 trial date to Oct. 10 for three-four days. Parker faces charges of burglary in the first degree, theft in the first degree and 13 counts of theft of a firearm.

Deputy prosecuting attorney Matthew Roberson told the court he is in process of drafting a plea offer as discovery remains ongoing in the case, according to court documents.

Parker’s status hearing is set for 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in Clallam County Superior Court.

For Robbins’ charges, he is scheduled to receive a resolution for his multiple charges at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26.

His attorney, Alex Stalker, asked for more time to review the resolution at an Aug. 12 hearing, and he and Roberson agreed to strike an Aug. 29 trial date as well.

Parker also faces charges in Thurston County for possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree, and malicious mischief in the third degree from May. A previous sentence of 364 days in jail for theft in the third degree in Lakewood was withheld if he didn’t commit another crime, according to court documents.

Robbins faces charges of burglary in the first degree, theft in the first degree, and 13 counts of theft of a firearm, and possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance (fentanyl) and (methamphetamine).

During the burglary inside Coastal’s building at 990 E. Washington St., Sequim Police reported the suspects smashed multiple cases and cut cables to steal shotguns.

Robbins was arrested at 7 Cedars Casino the same day of the incident with more than 100 pills of fentanyl, and about 2 ounces of methamphetamine. He remains in jail on $50,000 bond.

Law enforcement arrested Parker on June 29 at a Tacoma hotel with one gun and Coastal merchandise in his room, court documents state.

Parker remains in custody with $150,000 bail.
