On Oct.1, households across the 24th Legislative District – which includes Clallam, Jefferson and parts of Grays Harbor counties – will receive a phone call from state Rep. Kevin Van De Wege at around 6 p.m.

Those who pick up will be invited to participate in a one-hour "telephone town hall," during which they will have the opportunity to ask questions of Rep. Van De Wege directly.

"The participation rate for these town halls is high. It’s like having a big conference call with thousands of people across the district," Van De Wege said.

"The 24th District is geographically very large, so this is the only way for me to connect with a lot of people at the same time and no one has to travel anywhere."

Only households with land lines will receive calls Oct. 1. Those wanting to participate via cell phone can do so via a toll-free number, 877-229-8493. When prompted to enter an ID code, participants should use 13576. The number will be available from about 10 minutes before the town hall begins, until its conclusion around 7 p.m.
