Clallam County Superior Court Judge George I. Wood, 66, announces he will retire on May 31 after 22 years in the legal profession.

He was elected as a judge of the Superior Court in November 1992 and began his tenure on the bench in January 1993. Wood, 66, began practicing law in Port Angeles in 1974 and was elected judge in 1992. He was re-elected without opposition in five separate elections.
