Ronald D. Lidster

Ronald D. Lidster of Port Angeles died of dementia at Sherwood Assisted Living on Oct. 7, 2022.

He was 82.

Lidster was born June 12, 1940.

Erwin Powell Jones Jr.

Erwin Powell Jones Jr. (VI) passed away peacefully on Sunday September 18, 2022 in Sequim, Washington at the age of 84, after battling a long illness.

Erwin was born on November 3, 1937, in Ione, Washington to Erwin P. Jones Sr. and Aileen Jones. He was the second of three children and grew up in Metaline Falls, Washington. He graduated in 1956 from Metaline Falls High School with a graduating class of 8. He remained close to his high school friends throughout his life. After graduating from high school, he attended Washington State University, where he had a little too much fun and did not focus on his studies, so he joined the Army for 3 years and served in South Korea. After his stint in the Army, he returned to Washington State University and received a bachelors degree in pharmacy and met his wife Diane (Lillywhite) of 56 years. While at Washington State University, he was a volunteer firefighter and member o the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Erwin and Diane began their life and family together in Spokane, where he worked as a pharmacist. He later attended Gonzaga University where he received a Law Degree. In 19772, they moved to Sequim where they raised their four children.

Erwin practiced law for 50 years, primarily focusing on estate planning and land use issues. He had one case go to the Washington State Supreme Court, where he won the trail. He was also a founding member of the Clallam County Public Defenders Board and member of the Washington State Bar Association. He maintained his pharmacy license throughout most of his life. He was also a Rotary Club member, a Mason, and a Korean War Veteran.

Erwin had a wicked sense of humor. He delighted in cracking jokes and making people laugh. He loved sailing, the Seahawks, the Washington State Cougars, Gonzaga Bulldogs, building things, and writing. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Erwin is survived by his wife, Diane, his three daughters; TaraLee Kedish (Brien), Lisa Coons (Andy), Sarah Gayton, and his son Erwin Powell Jones VII (Laura), his ten grandchildren, Malachi, Denver, Oliver, Adam, Abigail, Adeliene, Fletcher, Win, Cynan, and Eleanor and sisters MaryAnn (John) and JoDee (Cooper). He was predeceased by is mother and father.

Erwin’s celebration of life, “Coffee with Erwin” will be held December 4, 2022 at Dungeness River Nature Center at Railroad Park, Sequim, Washington at 2 p.m.
