Boys tennis: Sequim sends 3 alternates to state tourney

With the second seed from the Olympic League, Sequim High doubles team Jerry Bryan and Eli Berg finished as first alternates to state on Nov. 1 at the West Central District III Tennis Tournament at Kitsap Tennis & Athletic Center.

With the second seed from the Olympic League, Sequim High doubles team Jerry Bryan and Eli Berg finished as first alternates to state on Nov. 1 at the West Central District III Tennis Tournament at Kitsap Tennis & Athletic Center.

Matthew Richards, the fourth Olympic singles seed, took the second alternate spot to state, too. Last year, Richards took fourth with Brandon Payne at districts to go on to state and finish 0-2 last spring.

Head coach Justine Wagner said, “All the boys played very well and I was proud of how they represented our school.” Sequim (10-2 in league and 11-2 overall) finished tied with North Kitsap on the season.
