First ‘Run the Peninsula’ series sets five races on Olympic Discovery Trail

Are you ready to run?

Run the Peninsula, a five-event series created by the Port Angeles Marathon Association — the same people who manage the North Olympic Discovery Marathon — kicks off its inaugural year with the Elwha Bridge 5k/10k on Saturday, Feb. 2.

The series includes races spanning much of the Olympic Discovery Trail, from Port Townsend to Port Angeles.

Each race offers a 5k and 10 k option.

All finishers of each race will receive a unique medal. Finishers of all five races receive a center medal that connects each race medal to form an impressive showpiece of your accomplishments.

In addition, those who run more than one event during the series can save on pricing, from 10 percent for two races up to 16 percent for all five.

• 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27 — Railroad Bridge 5K/10K, Sequim ($25 for 5k, $30 for 10k, prices increase Jan. 31)

• Sunday, June 2 — North Olympic Discovery Marathon, Sequim-to-Port Angeles (includes 5k, 10k, half-marathon; prices vary, see nodm.com for information)

• 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 — Larry Scott Trail 5k/10k, Port Townsend ($25 for 5k, $30 for 10k, prices increase July 31)

• 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 — Jamestown S’Klallam 5K/10K ($25 for 5k, $30 for 10k, prices increase Sept. 30)
