Sequim’s first girls high school flag football team is heading for the postseason after finishing the season as Olympic League co-champions with Klahowya.
The Wolves (12-2) split their last regular season games on Jan. 28 winning 41-11 over Bremerton and losing a tight game 28-21 to Bainbridge.
Port Angeles (9-5) finished third in league with two wins in Sequim with a 21-13 win over Bainbridge and 35-14 win over Bremerton.
The top five teams from the Olympic League and top three from the South Puget Sound League are set to compete Friday-Saturday, Jan. 30-31 at Olympic High School in Bremerton.
Seeding was set to be determined sometime on Thursday, Jan. 29.
District postseason games start at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 in a first round losers out tournament. The semi-finals begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. Jan. 31 with all four teams set for the state finals the following weekend Feb. 13-14 in Federal Way.

Wolves’ home games
In their second to last game of the season, the Wolves put the pressure on early in the 42-11 win over Bremerton.
Ruby Moxley-Horgan opened the scoring frenzy against the Knights with a rushing touchdown going the length of the field.
On their next drive, Raimey Brewer passed to Moxley-Horgan for another score, followed by Kiley Winter running in a touchdown.
Quarterback Lily Sparks threw to Olivia Jameson to put them up 28-0 with a two point conversion catch by Winter.
Moxley-Horgan snagged an interception, but the Knights got on the board with a safety after the Wolves dropped a lateral in the end zone.
However, Winter rushed in another touchdown, and Sydney Thomas-Harris, who subbed in for the second half as quarterback, threw a two point conversion to Winter. Thomas-Harris later threw a touchdown to Moxley-Horgan.
Towards the end of the game, Sequim recorded a sack, Bremerton scored a touchdown and recorded another safety.
Against the Spartans to close the regular season, the game went back and forth.
Brewer opened the game with an interception followed by a Winter rushing touchdown for the Wolves to go up 7-0. The Spartans responded with two scores to go up 14-7.
The Wolves responded with a passing touchdown from Sparks to Winter to tie the game.
Moxley-Horgan made an interception but Sequim couldn’t capitalize, leading to another Spartans touchdown.
Thomas-Harris threw a touchdown to Brewer to tie the game, but the Spartans scored in the final minutes to keep the lead.
The Wolves, with seconds left, tried to even the game but couldn’t pull down some deep passes to tie.
Following the loss to Bainbridge, Sequim’s only other loss of the season came against Klahowya 35-6 on Dec. 11. The Wolves rebounded well to defeat the Eagles 28-14 the following week.
