Sequim High’s girls tennis team dropped two doubles matches but won its other five matches in straight sets to knock off visiting Bremerton on April 11, 5-2.
SHS ace Kendall Hastings improved to 6-1 on the season with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Knight Helen Rode, while Calleigh Thompson improved to 6-2 after a 6-0, 6-1 win over Tulip Carter in No. 2 singles play. Tiffany Lam won at No. 3 singles, topping Bremerton’s Kali Liu 6-2, 6-0.
Kendall Day and Sydney Thomas Harris improved to 6-3 as a doubles pair with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles, while Sequim’s Azlyn Judd and Taylor Heyting added a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 doubles.
Sequim (6-3 overall) was scheduled to play in two early-week matches: at North Mason on April 17, and at North Kitsap on April 18, a match originally scheduled for April 13 but postponed. Results for both matches were not available at press time.
The Wolves are at Kingston on April 19.
Sequim finishes their home slate against Olympic on April 21 and the regular season on April 25 at rival Port Angeles.
