Sequim equestrians finish strong in Spanaway meet

The Sequim Equestrian Team members posted four wins in their six team events and individual riders took home more than 30 top-15 placings at the second district meet of the 2009 season March 20-22 in Spanaway.

The Sequim Equestrian Team members posted four wins in their six team events and individual riders took home more than 30 top-15 placings at the second district meet of the 2009 season March 20-22 in Spanaway.

"(We) had a great show," coach Terri Winters said.

Sequim competed against 10 schools and won team titles in Drill Team, In-Hand Obstacle Relay, Team Sorting and Canadian Flags events, going 1-2 in Canadian Flags.

The third meet of the season is April 17-19 at the Trails End arena in Olympia with the state meet to follow, May 14-17 in Pasco.

Each Sequim rider has qualified for the state meet in at least one event.
