The Wolves’ tennis team is on a roll – again.

Aiming for their third undefeated season since 2005, Sequim (9-0) picked up a big win against Klahowya April 24.

The Eagles took two of three singles matches but

Sequim swept all four doubles matches for a 5-2 overall win.

Along with wins against Olympic on April 20 and North Kitsap on April 21, the Wolves are four matches from another undefeated season. But a May 5 date at rival powerhouse Port Angeles looms.

The Wolves got a good warm-up against Silverdale’s Eagles. Kari Hankins earned Sequim’s lone singles win with a tough, three-set win versus Hannah Hoglund (4-6, 6-1, 6-2).

Sequim’s top doubles squad of Kyla Hall and Blaire Maloney whitewashed Klahowya’s top duo Nicole Lewandowski and Keria Parker by perfect 6-0, 6-0 scores while Sequim’s Diana Earl and Angela Richards did the same to Klahowya’s No. 2 team.

Katrina Chan and Mary Cherrett won in No. 3 doubles action and No.4 team partners Stacy Hanson and Jennifer Lancheros swept Klahowya’s fourth doubles squad.

Sequim topped Olympic 6-1 on April 20, losing just one singles match and sweeping the remaining 12 sets.

A day after, the Wolves topped North Kitsap 5-2. The Vikings took both of the contest’s three-set matches but Sequim was able to take the top two singles and top three doubles match-ups.

Sequim was scheduled to take on Kingston on the road April 27 – results were unavailable at press time. The Wolves travel the rest of the regular season: April 29 at Port Townsend, May 1 at North Mason in Belfair and May 5 at Port Angeles.

The 2A district tournament is scheduled for May 16-17.
