Olympic Peninsula Paddlers club meets and volleyball club team crowned

Lower Columbia trip featured at meeting

The Olympic Peninsula Paddlers club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Vern Burton Community Center. This month’s program features Seattle adventure writer Charlotte Austin with her slideshow presentation of kayaking the Lower Columbia River Water Trail this past October. The public is invited to attend. A donation is requested.

The club has reserved the William Shore Pool for two hours on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22, for kayak skills and safety practice. Non-members are welcome, but space is limited. For more information, see www.OlympicPeninsulaPaddlers.com.

The Killers triumph   for volleyball crown

The Killers defeated Hits and Giggles 25-21, 26-24 and 25-21, in the championship match of the Peninsula Volleyball League on Jan. 29 at Peninsula College. It’s Go Time and Set For Life tied for third.

The champions represented players from Sequim, Port Angeles and Neah Bay, including team members Autumn Ruddick, Jeff Buerer, Orv Charles, Dustin Brunk, Emily Wallner, Jennifer Reynolds, Greg Russell and Jennie Webber Heilman.
