Hoops classic set

The Port Angeles Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the 20th Annual Presidents Day Classic, set for Feb. 13-14. The youth basketball tournament has divisions for boys and girls teams in grades 4-8.

Boating group to meet

The North Olympic Sail and Power Squadron will meet at The Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road, Sequim, on Monday, Feb. 8. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by a business meeting, dinner and a speaker. A dinner can be purchased for $22 per person.

This event is free and open to the public. The speaker is David Rugh, wildlife biologist with 34-plus years working at NOAA’s National Marine Mammal Lab.

Register for baseball

Registration for Olympic Junior Babe Ruth Baseball, open to boys ages 13-15, is now open. Mail-in registration is due Feb. 1 for returning players.

New player registration is set for 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Cost is $95 per player or $110 per family.
