Sequim High’s girls track team placed fifth and boys were sixth at the Olympic League meet, held May 2 and May 4 at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo.
SHS’s girls tallied 136 points, while the boys had 62.5 points.
Sequim’s Clare Turella won the high jump with a leap of 4-10, while teammate Bailey Stein was third at 4-4.
Sequim’s Kaitlyn Bloomenrader finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:24.01, a personal record. On May 2, she placed fourth in the 1,600 with another personal record of 5:30.48.
On the boy’s side, Sequim’s best showing Saturday was by Ari Skov, who finished third in the pole vault with a height of 13-3, a personal record. Teammate Cayden Beauregard was fourth at 12-9 and Sequim’s Brody Anderson was fifth at 11-9.
Looking ahead
The West Central bi-district 2A meet set for May 17-18 at North Mason High School in Belfair.
The top six event finishers from the district meet move on to the class 2A state meet set for May 23-25 at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
