Bowling: Four Wolves earn district tourney berths

Four members of Sequim High’s bowling squad are moving on to districts after earning qualifying marks at the Olympic League tournament All- Star Lanes in Silverdale on Jan. 17.

Senior Porter Funston,had a team-high 144 in her first game and bowled a 368-pin, three-game series (144-112-112) as Sequim earned four of the league’s six individual qualifiers last week.

Sophomore Trinity Henderson placed fourth with a 328-pin series (119-112-97), followed closely by freshman Madison McKeown’s 327 pins (98-110-119). Senior Madison Murphy snagged the final individual spot with a 304-pin series (80-112-110).

Sequim freshman Gabriella Mattern-Hall is second alternate after bowling a 228-pin series.

Klahowya was the Olympic League regular season winner, with Olympic taking the top tourney spot and North Mason earning second place.

The West Central District tourney is Jan. 26 in Silverdale.
