Sequim hoopsters take tourney titles

These young dribblers are on a roll.

The Sequim Wolves’ select fifth-grade basketball squad posted a pair of tournament wins in December.

Sequim opened with a win at the Port Angeles Parks & Recreation’s Warehouse Holiday Hoops Tournament, Dec. 9-10. The Wolves knocked off Port Angeles 57-27, South Kitsap 52-39 and Federal Way 47-29 before routing Blaine 57-40 in the championship game.

The next weekend, Sequim went 4-0 to claim a victory at the White River Winter Classic, held Dec. 16-17 in Buckley. They beat Poulsbo Drive 38-21, Emerald Ridge-Silver 54-27, the White River Sting 39-26 and Emerald Ridge 32-21.
