Sequim’s Hurn playing in WCL for Bellingham

Sequim’s Evan Hurn is playing baseball for the West Coast League’s Bellingham Bells this summer, the Peninsula Daily News reports.

Hurn is a 2016 Sequim graduate who played summer baseball for years with Wilder Baseball Club. He just wrapped up his freshman season with Edmonds Community College.

In three games with the Bells, Hurn is batting 3 for 11 (.273 average) and has walked once and scored once. Hurn played second base exclusively for Sequim and saw a lot of time at third base for Wilder. So far Bellingham has him playing the other side of the infield at first base.

The Bells visit the Port Angeles Lefties for a three-game series the weekend of July 7-9. Hurn homered in his first-ever collegiate plate appearance for Edmonds. He also hit a go-ahead home run that propelled the Titans to another victory.
