Youth sports: Threat takes Tulip tourney title

The Threat eighth-grade girls basketball squad brought home championship hardware from the 26th-annual Tulip Tournament, held March 23-25 in Skagit County.

The Threat, a squad of girls from Sequim and Port Angeles, went 3-1 over the weekend, facing PNW RAIN, Whatcom Elite and Revolution. After falling by two points to PNW RAIN edged Threat, they knocked off Whatcom Elite and Revolution, then topped PNW RAIN by four points in overtime to claim first place.

The Threat is winding down their eighth-grade season and will be finishing up at the Jam on It Memorial Day Tournament, held May 26-28 in Reno, Nev.
